A plan — and a hundred women who have her back
When Maria first walked into a Rise Together circle, she almost didn’t come back. “I thought everyone would have it figured out except me,” she says.
They didn’t. That was the point.
Over the next few months, the daily gratitude practice she’d started in Glimmer of Hope gave her just enough steadiness to do the hard thing: open A Sunny Day and look, honestly, at her money.
“I’d been afraid of those numbers for years. Turns out they were less scary than the not-knowing.”
She built her first budget. Then her first small emergency fund — a hundred dollars she didn’t touch. Her circle celebrated it like she’d won the lottery.
Today Maria mentors two women who are right where she started. “I tell them the same thing someone told me,” she says. “You’re already stronger than you think. We’re just here to help you see it.”
